Open Letter to President Trump: Please Do Not Rehabilitate Nikki Haley

            Mr. President, like a growing army of citizens from all walks of life, we are getting excited at the increasing likelihood of your re-election.  The emotion is overwhelming for us and must be infinitely more so for you and your family after the torture and repeated gauntlets you’ve had to face.   And it is understandable that you would be open to millions of new converts as well as magnanimous to many who frankly do not deserve it.  This speaks to your character and is encouraging to millions of us.

            But as positive and good as these instincts are, I am writing to ask that you temper that impulse.  It has been reported by Fox News that you are working to create a place for Nikki Haley in your campaign.  Sir, of course it would come from Fox.  Paul Ryan, the leading quisling in the nation, sits on the Fox Board and is certain to be the source of the dunning promotion of Haley on that outlet.

            Beyond the obvious Paul Ryan connection, there are many reasons to refrain from helping Haley rehabilitate her scarred and stained political brand.  I could list a hundred insults, cuts, and sabotage efforts by Haley over the past three years.  But there is no need, I am sure you know them better than anyone else since you were the target.  There is however one primary reason to keep her outside of the circle – her blood lust for war.  To be blunt, she is the Number One Cheerleader for the never-ending wars of Empire that have nearly destroyed our nation. 

            Let me ask, what exactly is she supposedly able to bring to your campaign that you don’t already have?  She has no real base.  Her vote was essentially an anti-Trump vote spurred by the likes of Cheney, Kitzinger and Romney.  Most of those people will not vote for you because they are little more than tools of the Deep State and regime.  And for the small percentage that have a few functioning brain cells and will consider voting for you, Nikki Haley is not going to push them over. 

            So, you get little to nothing out of a deal to bring Haley into the campaign.  But, what does it cost you?  A lot.  Giving Haley a platform to spew her venom is sure to come back to haunt you, exactly as it did in your first Administration.  She is fundamentally untrustworthy.  You clean her up again now, she is sure to bit you in a year or when you least need it to happen.  It is who she is and who the people around her are.

            I am sure from all reports around D.C. that you are bring “lobbied” by those same “Republican” consultants who you pledged to be rid of.  I know it can be tough to distinguish them from honest advisors.  But most of the GOP, Inc. mob have simply put on a MAGA hat and pretend.  Trust them at your peril.  And ask, why are these presumed allies and friends pressing you to bring into a winning campaign the stench of defeat and perfidy?  Whether they have a material interest in doing so is for you or others to determine.  But the nature of the GOP, Inc. gang is such that is very likely.

            Mr. President, please do not fall for the hissing whispers of the permanent political and government establishment.  Nikki Haley is the enemy of all you have said you want to achieve.  She brings nothing to the table and in fact costs a great deal.  This is one deal from which you are best served by just walking away.
